Lawn Care Services

Below is a list of residential lawn care services we offer.

Anchor 1
lawn aeration plus lawn care services

Lawn Core Aeration

Lawn core aeration is the process of pulling plugs from your lawn. This allows air, water and nutrients to penetrate to your lawns root system. Which is the foundation to a healthy lawn. Plugs are then left on the lawn, and will breakdown over a few weeks.

Getting your lawn aerated also helps minimize thatch build-up. Because of the hard soil in our region, we recommend getting your lawn aerated twice a year. Spring and Fall are best months, but can be done from March through October.

Info & preparing for your lawn core aeration:

• Mark your sprinklers

• Please pick up dog poop

• Mow your lawn as low as possible before service.

• Unlock your gates.

• Please note if you have any dangerous slopes on property.

• Pick up and or remove any toys or backyard items on lawn.

• Includes front & backyard

• Service includes lawn core aeration & blowing hard surfaces.

• Don't mow until plugs breakdown. The dirt in the plugs will dull the lawn mower blade, and or muddy up the lawn mower deck.

Grass seeding

Overseeding your lawn is something that needs done to maintain a lush thick lawn. Or fill out a thin lawn damaged from weather conditions and or heavy traffic damage caused by pets and children.

We use a premium perennial rye and Kentucky blue grass blend. Ideal for lawns in the Pacific Northwest. And 99.9999 weed free.

Info & preparing for your lawn core aeration:

• Mow as low as possible before service. When your existing lawn starts to grow, it will protect the seedlings and help with germination.

• Keep seed wet at all times. Best times to water are in the early morning, and or in the evening hours. These times allow the seed to stay wet for extended periods of time to help the germination process.

• When the existing lawn needs to be mowed, high mow. This will provide protection to the un--germinated grass seed.

• Keep pets and kids off lawn until grass has germinated and becomes established.

Lime & Soil Amendments

Lime is the ultimate secret weapon that most homeowners dismiss. Soil in the Pacific Northwest is notoriously acidic. This is caused by the amount of organic matter (leaves, needles, mulching your grass clippings, old tree roots, organic fertilizer etc).

Nutrients from fertilizing bind to acidic soil, basically holding nutrients hostage. Applying lime balances the ph, that allows those nutrients to be released.

Info & preparing for a lime application:

• Lime for lawns moves extremely slow through the soil. So it'll take time before it starts working it's magic.

• Treatments every year is the key to changing the soils ph.

• Lime is not a fertilizer. It's a soil supplement that works hand in hand fertilizer applications.

• Moss thrives in acidic soil, lime treatments balance the ph, helping to create an environment less favorable for moss.

*Gypsum applications are also available.

Lawn Fertilizer Applications

We offer standard granular fertilizer treatments, and organic fertilizer applications. Standard granular fertilizer treatments should be applied every 6-8 weeks during the growing season. Season specific fertilizers are used depending on your lawns needs.

Organic fertilizer tends to be a little more pricey, and needs to be put down at heavier rates than standard granular fertilizer.

Info & preparing for a fertilizer application:

• Mow before treatments. This gives you time to let the fertilizer breakdown before your next lawn mowing. And avoids sucking up fertilizer that hasn't broken down.

• Standard fertilizer is used for a quick green and is the most common.

• Organic should be used if you're looking to minimize your environmental footprint. And to create an environment in the soil that benefits your lawns root system long term.

• Organic fertilizer takes longer to kick in. Organic fertilizer should be applied every 8-10 weeks.

Lawn Weed Control

We do not blanket spray weed control. We spot spray. Spot spraying your lawns weeds means a more targeted approach and the use of a lot less weed control.

Info & preparing for a weed control application:

• Liquid weed control is absorbed as soon as it dries. As soon as it dries, make sure you water lightly to push the weed control through the weeds system.

• Fertilizer treatments go hand in hand with weed control applications. While the weeds die, fertilizer will thicken the grass, crowding out the dying weeds.

Moss Control Treatments

We use 100% iron. Which is a 90% higher rate than most store brands. This means Moss will die a lot faster, and less likely for follow up treatments.

Info & preparing for a Moss control application:

• Our Moss control treatments are in granular form. It breaks down with water. If it's not raining, please wet your grass.

• Unless your lawns moss is so bad it requires thatching, dead moss can usually be pushed out with fertilizer, a heavy overseed and a lawn core aeration.

De-Thatching

Thatching involves ripping out the thatch (dead roots and grass clipping build up) and dead moss with a machine with numerous rows of blades. This will help your existing lawn breathe, and prepare it seeding and lawn aerating. These services all go hand in hand.

There are too many variables with pricing thatching, so if you're interested in getting a quote, please contact us to set up an appointment.
